My Story

I'm sure you've heard this one! I was tired of wasting my money on expensive moisturizers and anti-aging products that never lived up to their promises. My skin (mid-forties) was dry (think sandpaper), sad, and I was left wondering where I went wrong? I needed hydration (like a lot) and I craved my youthful, glowing skin back! I was also struggling to help my daughter (left) solve her severe acne issues. I remembered how painful it was (mentally and physically), not only as a teenager but at any moment in your life.

Fast-forward to hundreds of dollars down the drain and a lot of internal screaming, I hesitantly decided to start creating skincare for my family and I (with a little help from a friend who put me on the right path). I thought, hey, I can do this! I've been in the beauty and skincare business (make-up artist) for over 25 years. I've cared for my own skin for over 45 years. Why not try? I knew what ingredients worked and which ones were hype. NO shortcuts and NO cheap, watered down ingredients! 

So began my journey into reading and exploring studies on every exotic botanical, plant and herb that I possibly could and experimenting with countless formulations. Through it, I found my new passion and an accidental in-home apothecary. I honestly never thought it would lead me here. I enjoyed what I was creating so much, I couldn't help but make samples for friends, clients and anyone who would listen to my rants about skincare. Turns out, they loved it too and that is how TOCO was born. 

As I am writing this, my skin is happy, hydrated and glowing again and my daughter’s acne is almost non-existent (her before & after is on the 'Matcha Clear Skin Balm' product page). My hope is that you’ll love these products as much as we do.
